you are doing marketing wrong
“Help enough people get what they want, and you can have what you want.” some marketing dude.
These are strange times we are navigating, and from a marketing perspective companies are being made to make tough decisions with regards to their marketing strategy, as budgets must be cut across all departments in all industries. The hospitality industry is arguably the hardest hit during COVID-19, and my clients and friends have been feeling it and reacting - with a fight or flight mentality.
You can choose to cut or invest heavily, these are really the only discussions I have been having over the past number of weeks, with a heavy leaving on the later. It is definitely my recommendation that most businesses take the time to invest in themselves now, and that this is really the only way to not only survive but emerge in a stronger market position.
Why spend money now on marketing when you have no business? Well, we need to be creative with the budgets we have, and also remain top of mind to our customer base with hopes that we can expand that base. One idea is taking advantage of our communities on social media, and trying to grow these by taking the time to post more and use sponsored content to boost our message. This is a budget-friendly way to accomplish this goal, especially if you find yourself having more time on your hands. Sponsored content is actually more affordable than some of you think.
So, we do have some very hard questions to ask ourselves to be able to move through into the new abnormal, in order to achieve the results we are looking for:
Where am I going to go?
What do I want to do?
How can I be better?
Am I doing the right things?
Am I maximizing my potential?
Let's schedule a call to see how to best help you answer these and other important marketing questions, and get your business back on track for the time (and trust me, it is coming soon!) when we will all be moving forward together into a more positive future.
